ItwillbeobservedthatColeridgein1797insertedsomelineswhichwerenotinthemagazine.TheywereprobablyrestoredfromaMS.copyLambhadpreviouslyseen，andifColeridgedidnotcancelallthatLambwiselycounselled，hecertainlydrewthestingofthe"affrontingsimplicity"byremovingtheword"little."TheicalambiguityoftheBristolmansexclamationasfirstreportedcouldhardlyhavefailedtodriveLambsdullcareawayforamomentortwo.
